FAQs

  • Mundialito, translated as “Little World Cup” in Spanish, is the largest, most prestigious international tournament for youth soccer players. Top players from academies worldwide come together to compete and learn about different cultures. It’s a total immersion experience into the exciting world of international futbol.

  • The rosters comprise players from different US states/regions and international Spanish players. We aim to prepare the players for an immersion experience by introducing them to other athletes worldwide.

  • Players who attend XR Soccer training summer and winter camps are evaluated for attendance to Madrid. Sometimes, a tryout can be scheduled for evaluation upon request. Some players may be observed at their club if further evaluation is required.

  • Coaching staff is selected from professional Spanish academies and programs based in Spain.

  • Because teams are formed with kids from all over the USA and Spain, having training sessions beforehand is extremely rare due to logistics.

  • There is no limit to the number of family members who would like to attend Mundialito with their player. We say the more, the merrier! We require one chaperone, but encourage more!

  • All teams are comprised of players of the same gender.

  • We do not provide a list of invitees and rosters are released when we are closer to the trip.

We want this experience to be based on your own personal desire to attend and experience the culture.

  • Airfare is not included in the price and is the responsibility of the players and their families. We recommend flying in before 1 p.m. on April 12th, as we will provide a meeting point at the Barcelona airport with bus transportation leaving at 3 p.m.

Bus transportation is also provided for return flights and will be finalized closer to the tournament.

  • Land time should be no later than 3pm.

  • We work with the tournament to get premier hotels for our players and their families. The hotels will be finalized in February or early March.

  • The players will either have morning or afternoon games. In both circumstances, they will have breakfast with the team, attend their match, have a light training session before or after their game, and have lunch with their teammates. After that, they will be dismissed to spend time with their families.

  • No. Players and families must stay at the recommended hotels to maintain team cohesion and ease logistics.

  • The uniform is included in the price and consists of two jerseys, two shorts, two game socks, a training top, and a warm-up jacket and pants. Extra items are available for purchase.

  • Players trade pins and jerseys throughout the tournament. If your child wishes to participate in exchanges, please bring a few jerseys from home. The pins are available for $2, and we recommend buying 10-20 to trade.

  • While the risk of Mundialito being canceled is low (unless we have another pandemic), the tournament will refund 70% of your funds in the event of a cancellation. Once we receive the refund, we will get it back to you quickly. Families are welcome to seek additional trip insurance at their discretion.
